Fermenters Club is excited to announce the fourth annual San Diego Fermentation Festival. Fermented foods such as sauerkraut, kimchi, and kombucha tea are increasingly popular with foodies and traditional healers alike.

Presale Tickets are $30 (plus fees) for General admission and $45 (plus fees) for an “Ambrosia Garden” ticket, in which guests 21 years old or older can sample tasters of local and regional beer, wine, kombucha cider, and mead. Children under 12 are admitted free to the Festival with an accompanying adult.

While we do “geek out” and celebrate our unlimited love for fermented foods, the Festival is part of a
broader narrative about food and community. The myriad benefits of such a gathering include:
● Building stronger communities
● Supporting the local economy and foodshed
● Providing a liaison between the scientific community and the public about the latest gut health
knowledge
● Sharing knowledge (and cultures)
● Empowering us to take command of what we put into our bodies
● Learning by doing and working together
● Respecting, honoring and learning about farming and our food system
● Supporting the local economy and foodshed

The Festival will feature:
● Keynote Panel discussion about Gut Health and the latest research of the human gut microbiome
● A Makers Marketplace showcasing the southern California bounty of artisan fermented foods, beverages and crafts
● Do-It-Yourself Pickle Stations where guests learn hands-on how to make fermented food
● Workshops and discussions given by fermentation experts covering how and why to make and eat fermented foods and beverages
● The Wellness Pavilion, featuring short yoga and reiki classes, massage chair, acupuncture and sound healing modalities
● An Ambrosia Garden (21+) featuring tasters of fermented beverages (beer, wine, cider, mead, and kombucha) from a dozen local and regional makers
● Live music and Entertainment

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Coastal Roots Farm, a nonprofit community farm and
education center in Encinitas, California. They cultivate healthy, connected communities by integrating
sustainable agriculture, food justice, and ancient Jewish wisdom. Through workshops, field trips,
agricultural festivals, and community events, the Farm offers hands-on education and invites its
neighbors to connect to the land and each other. Since Farm programming began, over 10,000 people
have joined us for these activities!
