Mahogany Mountain Vineyard & Winery is a small boutique winery specializing in limited production of award-winning Barbera, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot, Syrah, Mourvedre, Muscat Canelli, Petit Verdot, Zinfandel and Port-style dessert wine. Our vineyard is located in a picturesque and sunny high valley (1,500 ft. elevation) in Ramona, California surrounded by mountains. Our microclimate is perfect for growing red wine grapes: hot long summer days and cool nights produce beautifully ripe fruits with deep intense flavors.
In 1996, we started making wine on premises using locally grown grapes. In 1997, we planted our own vineyards with Cabernet, Merlot, Mourvedre and Zinfandel varietals. In 2004, we expanded our vineyard to add Syrah to our collection of red wine varietals. In 2012, we expanded our vineyard to add Petit Verdot and Malbec. Our winemaking techniques include harvest by hand, small bin fermentation, hand punch-down of caps and hand press.
Our tasting room opens from 1-5 pm on the weekend and by appointments outside of the regular tasting hours. We have indoor air-conditioned tasting room and covered outdoor patio as well as open air outdoor patio with beautiful views of vineyards and surrounding mountains.
